Winning Time: Reggie Miller Vs. The New York Knicks Indianapolis Premier, February 26 to Benefit Foundation & Two Other Charities

INDIANAPOLIS – A Special Movie Premiere Event benefitting three local charities will take place Friday, Feb. 26, 2010 at Conseco Fieldhouse when the film, “Winning Time: Reggie Miller vs. The New York Knicks” is shown. Part of ESPN Films’ “30 for 30” Documentary Series, “Winning Time: Reggie Miller vs. The New York Knicks” is directed by filmmaker Dan Klores and focuses on the 1994-95 Eastern Conference Semifinal Playoffs, which the Pacers won, four games to three. The film highlights Miller, the Pacers’ all-time leading scorer, and his part in what became a noted playoff rivalry through 2000. The film contains game highlights and interviews from many parties who took part in or witnessed the series. Tickets for the premiere are $10 in advance ($12 day of event) and available now at the Conseco Fieldhouse Box Office or Pacers.com. Proceeds will benefit Pacers Foundation, Peoples Burn Foundation/Brave Hearts Camp and Riley Hospital for Children Pediatric Burn Unit. The evening will feature a Red Carpet arrival from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., with the film beginning at 8:00 p.m. “I’m really looking forward to this because the movie brings back a lot of great memories for myself and Pacers’ fans,” said Miller. “I’m very pleased that this will benefit three great charities, that I can be a part of it and that Indiana fans can come and re-live a great series along with a great ending.” More information is available by going to Pacers.com or by calling the Pacers’ offices at (317) 917-2500.

State Farm to Host Spirit of Giving Campaign to Benefit Foundation

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – State Farm Insurance will partner with Hank-FM and B105.7 to collect donations for The People’s Burn Foundation. State Farm agents and employees and Foundation volunteers will also be available to wrap gifts at Castleton Square Mall for a cash donation on the following dates: Friday, December 4 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, December 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and Sunday, December 6 from noon to 5:00 p.m. State Farm Insurance agents along with B105.7 will again be available on December 12 at the Arni’s Restaurant located at 4705 E. 96th Street, Indianapolis, and again with Hank FM December 19 at the Arni’s Restaurant located at 1691 Curry Road, Greenwood, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Donations will be collected for the Foundation’s “Extinguish the Need” program, which assists families who have been devastated by residential fire by providing them with basic household and personal needs. Items that will be collected are: • Gently used or new pots and pans, bakeware • Gently used or new bath towels, washcloths • Unbreakable dinnerware, glasses, silverware • New Pillows, blankets • Personal toiletries such as bath soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste • Air Mattresses • Visa Gift cards • Cash donations “The Foundation is extremely excited and grateful to State Farm Insurance for the opportunity to raise much needed funds in this difficult economic climate, as well as support by Hank-FM, B105.7, and Arni’s Restaurant,” said Jim Shaffer, Executive Director of the Foundation. “With the cold weather approaching, we know the number of house fires increase as alternative methods of heating are used so this could not come at a better time.”
