Jan 27, 2010

Donors who contribute a minimum $25 to The People's Burn Foundation will receive a limited edition poster of Jeff Saturday, Indianapolis Colts Pro Bowl Center and Foundation supporter/spokesperson. Jeff and his teammates are heading to the Super Bowl to play the New Orleans Saints in Miami on Sunday, February 7, after the team's exciting 30-17 win over the New York Jets for the AFC Championship on Sunday, January 24. This is the same poster provided to donors outside Lucas Oil Stadium at the game in partnership with the Colts. Thanks to Jeff, the Colts organization, Colts fans and, yes, the Jets fans, all who generously contributed.

Colts & Foundation Host Collection at AFC Championship Game

Jan 20, 2010

Fans Who Donate Receive Jeff Saturday Poster. INDIANAPOLIS – This Sunday as the Colts prepare to take on the New York Jets inside Lucas Oil Stadium, there will be volunteers and firefighters outside the stadium supporting a special cause. Beginning at 1 p.m., volunteers will be stationed at the Colts Community Collection Stations, presented by Toyota, collecting donations for The People’s Burn Foundation. The first 15,000 fans who donate to the cause will receive a limited edition poster featuring Colts Center Jeff Saturday. Cash donations, as well as checks made payable to The People’s Burn Foundation, will be accepted at each collection site. Saturday and his wife, Karen, became spokespeople for The People’s Burn Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides support for Hoosiers affected by burn injuries and fire devastation, after they experienced a fire in their home several years ago. The Colts and the Saturday’s have continued to support People’s Burn Foundation over the years and will provide their AFC Championship Game as a way for the organization to raise awareness and support for the work they do. This collection is part of the Colts ongoing gameday collections program through which they provide support for several charitable causes each season. The 2009-10 season collections have included Coats for Kids, Finish Line’s Soles4Souls Shoe Collection, Meijer SACKing Hunger Food Drive and WISH-Tree Toy Drive. A complete list is available at www.colts.com/collections. About The People’s Burn Foundation Founded in Indianapolis as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 1997, the Foundation provides programs to assist people affected by burn injuries and fire devastation in Indiana, including “Helping Brave Hearts Heal” for basic personal necessities of patients at area hospital burn centers; “Brave Hearts Camp” for burn survivor children at Bradford Woods near Martinsville, IN; Adult and Child Burn Survivor Support groups and other activities; and support for families affected by fire devastation in collaboration with American Red Cross and other agencies. The Foundation also is performing due diligence to someday develop a “Family Support Center” to provide temporary housing and support services for burn survivor patient families in area hospitals. ###
