Brave Hearts' Support Network
PBF provides support for burn survivors and family members. However,
the support network is not the conventional "support group."
Burn survivors serviced
by PBF have created Brave Hearts' Support Network that also
includes caregivers, loved-ones and family members, who come together
as a group, divide up into smaller
groups and leave as a family unit.
The network comes together for various events throughout
the year. During the events, loved-ones, burn
survivors and siblings all spend time together.
Events are casual and entire families are encouraged to be involved through activities
organized to provide the opportunity to quietly discuss issues on a one-on-one basis, or within a small group.
The Brave Hearts' Support Network has several posted
events. However, many burn survivors create other events to be together outside
of the network .
