Volunteer
Numerous volunteer opportunities are available to donate your time, talent and “heart” to The People’s Burn Foundation.
Extinguish the Need (ETN)
This important facility located at the Foundation’s offices needs volunteers to help develop donor partnership opportunities for basic household and personal items provided to people who have been devastated by fire loss or burn injuries. ETN provides some of the basic essentials such as personal items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes) and household essentials such as dishes, utensils, air mattresses, towels, underwear and socks to assist individuals and families with a “care package” during transition as they work to get back on their feet.
To volunteer please call (317-803-2876, Ext. 206).
Brave Hearts Camp
There is nothing more powerful than the sense of belonging. People come alive when they feel free enough to belong. Brave Hearts Camp offers children who have suffered burn injuries the opportunity for reprieve and release. Over the course of a week, children will learn self–confidence, interact with other burn victims, and understand they can continue to live life to its very fullest. Brave Hearts Camp 2010 will be conducted June 6-11 at beautiful Bradford Woods (www.indiana.edu/~bradwood/ ) in Martinsville, IN.
